Savor Not Stress: A Mindful Eating Guide to Survive the Holiday Season
The Holidays are here and with that comes a season of events, parties, gatherings, and traditions largely based around food. For many of us, this can be a conflicting time as we navigate our feelings around diet culture, restriction and bingeing, food values (viewing food as good vs. bad), body “trends” and self-esteem. This stress can strip the pleasure out of this joyful season and leave us stranded in the New Year with guilt and shame.
Join Hayley Pingree, creator of The Napa Table, for a 90-minute mindful-eating lecture and tasting designed to educate and empower you stay present and at-ease in your body and your relationship to food. The 60-minute lecture portion will discuss the following:
*What is “Diet Culture” and the common struggles around eating during the holiday season
*Mindful Eating Principles, how to eat intuitively, grounding mantras, and simple ways to stay present in your body and mind
*Tools for implementing mindfulness techniques into the three Napa Table pillars: What We Eat, How We Eat, Who We Eat With
*Discussion and Q+A
Following the lecture portion will be an interactive cheese tasting focused on honing mindful eating techniques and applying them in your everyday life. A grocery list will be provided via email for the tasting section.
